The Highwaymen were a loose association of 26 African American artists from the Fort Pierce, Florida area in the United States. Throughout their beginnings in the 1950s and 60s they created idyllic, quickly realized images of the Florida landscape and peddled some 200,000 of them from the trunks of their cars.
