Mark Knopfler - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Mark Knopfler OBE born August 12, 1949, Glasgow, Scotland is a British guitarist, singer, songwriter, and film score composer. Knopfler was originally best-known as the lead guitarist and vocalist for the British rock band Dire Straits, which he co-founded in 1977 with his brother David.

Mark Knopfler est un auteur, compositeur, guitariste et chanteur britannique, né le 12 août 1949 à Glasgow. Fondateur en 1977, avec son frère David, du groupe Dire Straits, Mark Knopfler, guitariste poursuit aujourd hui une carrière solo. In origine conosciuto soprattutto per essere stato il fondatore e leader carismatico della celebre rock band Dire Straits attiva tra il 1977 e il 1995 , a partire dal 1996 ha inciso album di eccellente livello come solista.
